ARTIST STATEMENT

 

I’m an artist from Prabumulih, South Sumatera, Indonesia. I studied at Academic Design of Vision Yogyakarta Department ( ADVY ) 2005, Majoring in Art Photography. Self taught learning in painting. I live and work in Yogyakarta. I have had solo exhibition in Dubai, Taipei, Berlin, Bandung, Jakarta, and have participated in selected group exhibition in Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Seoul, Beijing, New York, Chiang Mai, Skopje, Colorado, Canada, Portugal, Singapore, Yogyakarta, Bali, Semarang, Solo, Padang, Jakarta and Surabaya Indonesia. I have had Art Dubai Residency at Ware House 421 Abu Dhabi, UAE, Transit #3 Residency at Selasar Sunaryo Art Space Bandung and Luzhunan Historical House, Miaoli,  Taiwan.

 

I create my work using the medium of painting. My work speak on the free association and intuitive mind of daily memories.  My works is an expression and the memory of behaviour and personal feeling of anxiety about the perception of space material reality, fantasy and human transformation. Inspire by doodle, lines, images, impression of forms, shapes, colors and environments that I have seen.

By creating an expression of lines, streaks, imagination as a metaphor to convey something. I expect these works to build the perception of reality and self visual traces that constantly changing. Which can be meaningful to me personally and others.
